March Solidarity Dinner

  • Jigsaw 10 Belvedere Court Dublin 1, County Dublin, D01 E726 Ireland (map)

We're back! Come along to our first Solidarity Dinner of 2018 :)

This one is going to be a little different...

With International Women's Day in mind this Dinner is going to be a space for women (and children) only to come together in a spirit of celebration, sharing, solidarity and learning about the different experiences we have of being women in Ireland today.

And to have loads of fun and food and music and chats and celebrate all the amazing women in our lives!

Like always, there'll be speakers from MASI- Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland sharing their lived experience of seeking asylum in Ireland and the effects Direct Provision has on them. We'll also be joined by MERJ - Migrants and Ethnic-Minorites for Reproductive Justice, speaking about the ways in which women in migrant communities are affected by reproductive health laws in this country. On top of that we'll hear from the amazing women from Cooking For Freedom - a group of women who've come together to cook for themselves and their families in defiance of the Direct Provision system where they are denied this basic right.

For the kids we'll have face painting and other fun activities like origami 😊😊

So women - come along if you like to eat lovely food, laugh, dance, cook, chat, be a friendly face.

*Suggested donation is €5 per plate (if you have less that’s fine, if you can give more – great!)*

••••We REALLY appreciate donations as they help us to cover the costs of this volunteer run event - we need funds to cover food costs and transport for all those coming from Direct Provision centres around the country••••

*Wanna show off your cooking skills? We'd also be grateful it if some people brought along a VEGETARIAN/VEGAN dish to share, please let us know so we can coordinate :) As the dinners grow we need more and more food - Send us a message!

*****************

Any money left over after paying for the transport costs of those coming from Direct Provision Centres from outside Dublin, will go towards supporting the work of MASI - the Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland.

In solidarity,
RAMSI & MASI
